The convenors are Tony Biddle and Margaret Pedley who lead the. 2 sub groups of Country walks and London walks, but all walks are open to all U3A Chess Valley members. Currently walks are on the 2nd Thursday of the month but starting 2010 our walks will be on the 2nd Wednesday of the month.
The
Country
Walks are organised by Tony B iddle and start by meeting at 9.15a.m. at
Hervines Park (Amersham) to share cars.
The U3A tradition
is self help and we need your help in assisting research and sharing walks
leadership being amongst us. We are grateful to our members who have helped us
in 2009 namely The Calverts, Andrew Clark and Mike Christianson.
The group title is based on a book by John Wilks 'Walks into History Beds, Bucks and Herts’ published by Countryside Books at £7.95. The book contains 16 walks of between 3 and 6.5 miles in the 3 counties but we shall add others.
2010
Programme:
Walks FOR 2010 will alternate on the second Wednesday of
each month. Each walk leader organises the directions, parking, lunch, visits
and keep records of those attending each walk.
Each walk/visit involves some fun in a little pre-reading or research and
then pre-walking the route to ensure familiarity with the paths when leading the
group.
