Activities
As those of you who have been regular attendees at
the Bridge sessions are aware it will not be possible for us to continue to
use the Chiltern Rugby club on Mondays with effect from September.
Since we became aware of this we have been endeavoring
to find an alternative venue where we are likely to be as well looked after as
at the Rugby club and which can provide free parking.
Unfortunately we have not been able to find anywhere else. An
alternative will be to continue to play at the Rugby club but on a Wednesday
afternoon. Having canvassed all the members who have been coming
along on a regular basis on Mondays an overwhelming number (25 out of 28)
would be happy with the switch.
As a result we have decided that we will change
days and thus stay at the Rugby club. Accordingly our first
meeting after the summer break will be on Wednesday 8 September starting at
2pm and finishing at 5pm. After that we will then be playing on
alternate Wednesdays again starting at 2pm instead of 1.30.
We are sorry that, undoubtedly, there will be a
few people for whom the change will be inconvenient but we don't think that we
have been left with any other alternative particularly as the vast majority of
those who come along on a regular basis were in favour of the switch.
The sessions are open to Bridge players of
varying abilities and players on their own are welcome. Whilst no
formal lessons are provided the Convenors will be on hand to offer any
advice or assistance to anyone who feels that they need it.

Bridge in a friendly atmosphere then please contact one of the Convenors.
